Digging up ghosts

The universe is ending. Young archaeologist Egan Torr intends to find out why.

His search for a lost starship belonging to the vanished race responsible for the coming apocalypse leads him to a lawless frontier on the edge of space. Torr is a fish out of water here, but he has help: a feisty black-hole wrangler named Miss Kitty and a devil-may-care pilot named Crash who has little regard for life and limb.

Together they face down trigger-happy ten-year-olds, cybernetic bulldogs, and a mysterious federal agent and find themselves on a collision course with a brooding outlaw named Wallace who may have some serious psychological issues.

It’s rollicking high adventure on the final frontier, chock full of sudden twists and snappy comebacks. But before all is said and done our heroes will unravel a poignant mystery that affects the very destiny of the universe.
